    2 Questions…

    1) If you are in Flagship First on a same day flight can you check in using Flagship First for the flight that is taking you to the location of the Flagship First flight. For example, LAX to LHR in Flagship first but coming in DFW to LAX. If it matters its First on the DFW to LAX flight but obviously not Flagship First. I know i can access the Flagship Lounge and dining in DFW but i cant find anything as to actually checking in with Flagship First. Although that said it seems like the guys watching that door really dont know anything and you can talk your way in. I did it recently for lax to dfw i told the guy it was the daily 787 in First, and it was . But still really wanst supposed to be using that check in. Be curious though if i am technically allowed in the dallas to la flighti mentioned above.

    2) How come my DFW to NRT in Business on 772 shows its “Flagship” ? I had not noticed that until right now when i was curious the cost of the ticket. I had booked it in miles and only had previously searched it for Miles use and i dont believe it shows as Flagship that way. But regardless the point remains, i thought Flagship service was something only offered on the 77W? There is no First on the 772. But it shows it as Flagship Business But yet a flight on a 787-9 lax to NRT doesnt show its a Flagship flight. What is the diff in these 2 International business class routes that makes one Flagship and the other not? I was just surprised to see the Flagship word next to the 772 is basically what I am getting at

    All AA-operated international metal has “[B]Flagship[/B] First” or “[B]Flagship[/B] Business”, regardless of the type of plane. [I]i.e.[/I] AA 728 PHL to LHR is Flagship Business, and it is on a 333. Its partner flights are just “Business” or “First”. Flight AA 8481 DFW to NRT is operated by JAL, so just Business.

    Well that answers that lol. Thanks, i didnt realize that.

    I still am curious if an onward flight later in the same day gets you flagship first check in at the previous airport. I looked up every google article i can find and got nothing.

    Do you happen to know?

    I don’t know, but does it really matter? Not trying to be rude. But only 4 US cities have FF check-in. What itinerary are you going to be flying where you are in coach then first? ORD – JFK – LAX? MIA – ORD – JFK? MIA – JFK – LAX? I can’t think of a a logical routing where you’d leave an airport w/ FF check-in but not be flying direct to onto another FF airport. If flying MIA – ORD – SEA for instance you wouldn’t have access to FF in ORD, so why would you in MIA?

    Is Elite check-in not enough? (To be fair, in PHL the elite check-in at B/C is horrible. Only A is decent.)

    I guess Elite check in is fine but was just curious. The Flagship at LAX if you look the part and say the right thing you can pretty much get in. Of course the agent inside can tell you otherwise once you try to check in..

    My routing is MIA-JFK-LAX. Going to see the great Tom Brady en route to SB #7. Cheaper to see a game in Miami then trying to get into Gilette. At any rate, ya so when i booked this i didnt know there was a Flagship flight out of Miami daily. Although even if knew that the 6am time is horrible. I am going up to JFK then will get the great premium service on the way home. I will see if let me check in at Mia flagship but not a huge deal

    I dont think too much about the premium check-in experience of domestic US carriers. You’re not there for too long and the most important part is how quickly you can get past security. It’s [I]nice[/I] but not the most important. I’d prefer to focus on lounge access before the flight. UA Polaris is fantastic, as are AA’s Flagship lounges but those are in few locations.

    Some foreign carriers do a nice job with lounges – Lufthansa, Emirates, Etihad, Cathay, etc.

    The actual check in you’re right its not much but the escort up above through the hallway at lax and then you get taken to the front of the Tsa lane. Thats the important part 🙂
