EU261 Compensation Possible?
Booked Route: CPH-BEG-JFK on Air Serbia
Route Taken: CPH-CDG-JFK on Air France
I was supposed to fly the booked route but the Air Serbia plane from CPH-BEG was delayed by 2 hours and I only had a 1 hour connection in BEG thus I would be missing the connecting flight.
The Air Serbia flight from BEG-JFK only flies every other day.
Given that I would miss the connection, Air Serbia puts me on Air France connecting through CDG with a 40 minute connection. It takes me 45 minutes to get through customs, let alone run to another concourse.
I miss the flight and AF puts me up at the Holiday Inn-CDG overnight and I catch an AF flight to JFK the next morning.
Is EU261 possible here? If so, who is responsible…Air Serbia? Air France?
What was the reason for the delay?
Hope this post helps https://onemileatatime.com/eu261-compensation/
So I’ve reached out to Air Serbia and their response:
Unfortunately we are not able to state reason of delay in certificate issued.
Thank You for understanding.
Is that true or are they giving me the run-around? If so, what is my next step?
Maybe a situation where a service can help get to the bottom of things.

They would obviously take a portion of your claim (I assume – never used them myself), but could be worth it to save you the hassle.
I came to the same conclusion over the last 24-48 hours. No one seems to know “the rules” and I don’t have time to become a lawyer. lol thanks for your help. I appreciate you.
