Etihad OUT Emirates UPGRADING

Etihad OUT Emirates UPGRADING

As we all know Etihad is pulling out of the Sao Paulo routing as of March 26, 2017. I have been using Etihad since the last several years and selecting them over Emirates and Qatar primarily because they are the only ones to offer direct Aisle access on all their seats in Business Class. Since I usually travel alone on Business to China this was ideal for me. However since they are know pulling out I programmed by next trip in April 2017 with Qatar Airways which use a 2-2-2 configuration on their 777-300ER. About one week after purchasing my Qatar Airways tickets I found out that Emirates will be bringing in their A380 aircraft on a daily basis to Sao Paulo on exactly the same day that Etihad ceases operations. I was never interested in using Emirates from Sao Paulo as they previously used the 777-300ER with a ridiculous 2-3-2 formation. However know with the A380 its all aisle access seats in Business Class. However their seats are smaller than Qatar and Pitch etc is smaller. What would you guys recommend for future travel on this route? Emirates or Qatar. I’m Platinum with Etihad, Gold with Qatar and Blue with Emirates

The A380 is definitely comfortable on EK. Have you read Lucky’s review that he posted earlier today?

QR is also worth the trip, even if it’s a 2-2-2 on their 77W. While not the best out there, they do operate a pretty solid product, both hard and soft. Lucky regularly calls is the all around best business class out there. If you do travel the route often, I do recommend that you fly both and compare for yourself.
