ETihad f or biz?

ETihad f or biz?

hi all, I finally found a way to use my AA miles that I’m super happy about. I’m flying from Ord to Amman using etihad for the first time.

I have two options though. J direct to Abu Dhabi or fly to jfk then on to Abu Dhabi in apartments. Would require Ord to lga then airport change…. and 40k extra miles. 2h10mins at the airport in Abu Dhabi.

Is etihad 777 J any good?

Thanks. I don’t have unlimited time so there is a cost for the extra flight

Never flown the apartment, but I feel like you answered your own question 🙂

Yes, Etihad J is good on the 777 – not the studio suite they have on the A380 or 787… but still very good.

I’m like you and value my time, so an added flight to La Guardia, plus a super fun cross Bronx journey to JFK, isn’t worth it to me. And, not a long layover in Abu Dhabi, so you wouldn’t really have time to enjoy lounge as much anyways.

@rickyw LGA-JFK doesnt touch the Bronx…both airports are in Queens. That being said, there’s no easy way to get between the two airports. You’d have to plan for at least 60-90 minutes if going by car, and double if via public transportation. I’d probably stick to ORD-AUH direct unless you can get a ORD-JFK flight on AA that works well with your trip.

Ha – you are absolutely correct David. Oops. Mondays

Thanks gents! Much appreciated advice. I really wanted to try apartments but extra flight, schlep around nyc when I have limited time. May leave it in J.

I have quite a few aa points from work travel that ive never been able to use. But in terms of Middle East travel it’s excellent! Awards on hold, flexibility. It’s awesome! No close in fees etc.

I also have a royal jordianian direct flight that I could book 🙂

Just looked and AA has only one (too late) Flight to jfk. But can buy a jet blue Flight for $95

If that works and the connection isnt going to take up too much time, go for it. I’d rather pay $95 and transfer terminals at JFK than try to get from LGA-JFK, even if the walk from the T5 terminal to the airtrain stop is terribly long. However, the airtrain stop at T4 is inside the terminal.
