Etihad Business to First upgrade on 777ER
Hi All: I am traveling n Etihad SFO- AUH on a 777 ER in Biz and got an upgrade bid offer for 900 or so. Thoughts? Do you think the instant upgrade rate at the airport may be better? If it was the Apartment, it would be a no brainier, but its the 777 ER, so want to get the best offer. What does the forum think? Thanks!
Hi All: I am flying Etihad in Biz from SFO- AUH and received a $950 upgrade to First offer. If it was The Apartment, its a slam dunk, but its not – its First on the 777 ER. Would the instant upgrade price at the airport be lower? Does anyone on the forum have any feedback on the price difference trends between the bid and instant upgrade at airport offers on Etihad from Biz to First? Also 777 ER first – worth it? Thanks in advance fro your feedback.
I think SFO-AUH is served by EY’s 77L, not 77W. However, I think it’s worth the upgrade, given the length of the flight, especially since its a morning flight, giving you time to enjoy all the benefits of food and entertainment in First Class. I believe the F seats on the 77L and 77W are comparable. As long as youre not on a Jet Airways plane, you’re good.

If it is a Jet Airways plane AKA Jetihad it will say :
Boeing 777
Operated by Etihad on Jet Airways Configured Aircraft”
I agree that the 9W planes are a little long in the tooth but for a flight that length, I’d still consider buying the upgrade. The F cabin is still very spacious and private.
