Emirates / JAL award
I’m trying to see if JAL mileage bank allows mixed awards with both JAL and Emirates segments in the same itinerary? i.e. LAX – NRT – DXB – JFK
Thanks,
Peter
Hmm. Probably would have to contact JAL. They have separate charts for a oneworld award where you can combine two or more oneworld carriers, and one for partner airlines where it states ”One award ticket is valid for travel on one of the following partner airlines”
They may allow you to combine several awards on a single ticket though that’s not really different from just ticketing several awards separately.
From this article by another boardingarea blogger:

“Additionally, even though JAL partners with both oneworld carriers and Emirates, you cannot mix and match Emirates with other oneworld airlines, or other partner airlines. This is partly because Japan Airlines has a separate award chart for oneworld redemptions. You can, however, include Japan Airlines in the same itinerary with Emirates.”
So yes you should be good to mix JAL and Emirates in one award, but contacting JAL to double check is always a good thing.
great, thanks all.
