Emirates award via Alaska Air

Emirates award via Alaska Air

  1. Anonymous Guest

I am working on getting 2 Emirates business class seats FLL-DXB. When I went to Alaska web site, it showed 2 business class seats available. However, once I booked first one, the second disappeared. (Needed to book separately, using two different Alaska accounts). So, for now, I have the second person booked via IAD, but would like to get both tickets on same flight. Questions:
1- What is the chance an extra award seat will show up again? Flight is 6 months away. Does Emirates make more seats available later? Or is 1 seat per flight the norm?
2- If I cancel the existing FLL-DXB award seat, will it come back in inventory in a reasonable time? (I ask this because the person traveling with me actually lives in FLL, and it would make more sense for her to have the FLL-DXB ticket than me) (Yes, I know, I should have booked hers first. live and learn.)
    Thanks.

In the future, if you call MileagePlan they can book both awards for you at the same time using miles from 2 different accounts. They grab both seats simultaneously so there’s no risk of losing one.
