Earning Miles on Codeshare

Earning Miles on Codeshare

  1. Anonymous Guest

Looking at flying from Europe to Shanghai for business in the coming months, one flight option shows flying on MH from Europe through DXB to KUL to Shanghai with the ability for long layovers in each city. The EU to DXB to KUL are operated by Emirates but have an MH flight number/codeshare. Would I receive mileage and EQM on American because of the codeshare numbers?

    Thanks

I think usually the flight has to be on the airline’s metal to accrue miles but I’m not 100% sure. @Tiffany?

Yep, in order to earn miles on MH, the flight must be:

“Malaysia Airlines marketed and operated flights as well as Malaysia codeshare flights operated by oneworld carriers and affiliates” (that means like DragonAir and American Eagle).

I would credit to Alaska, I think.
