Downgraded and refused compensation.
So this is complicated and thank you to everyone in advance who is reading this.
I had a US Airways Award redemption last year that had a crazy routing of DTW-AMM(Stopover)-TXL(Stopover)-LHR-HND-GMP(Destination)ICN-KUL-CDG-CLT-DTW. The transatlantic routes were on Business Class since I couldn’t find award space and the trans-eurasia…? flights were on First class, so the whole ticket was charged at First class award level.
The issue 1 has started at DTW trying to check in for my flight to AMM
I don’t know what exactly happened, but when I got to the RJ check in desk, the ticket was voided for no reason. I was re-routed DTW-ORD-LHR-AMM where ORD-LHR on BA F, LHR-AMM I was ‘forced’ to be in economy.
The next problem was at the TXL-LHR flight where I was downgraded to economy. The check-in agents refused compensation, and the customer representative at LHR has also refused compensation. BA customer relations also refused compensation.
It’s not over yet. After the tragedies MH has gone through, they’ve downgraded my flight KUL-CDG from an A380 to a B777-200ER with no first class. I called US Airways to re-route to CX or other any other flights with first class availability, but refused many times.
I have contacted DOT, French, German, and British aviation bureau which they have not given me a clear answer. I have been contacting MH and BA about this issue and claims that no compensation would be made. AA says that they would only refund 5,000 miles which is a humiliating amount considering the troubles that I have gone through. I wish I could file a lawsuit, but I no longer live in the United States, nor Europe which gives me a massive headache on what I should now do.
I know this case is complicated and I might be asking a way too complicated, but if anyone knows what I should do or any advice I would really appreciate any kind of advice!
Regards,
David
