I’ll be flying Qatar Airlines out of Doha Next Friday in Qsuites. My flight doesn’t depart until 1:00 AM… However, my friend has a flight that departs about 10 hours before mine. Would I be able to drop my bag off at check-in ~10 hours before my flight and enter the terminal? Or would I need to wait the usual 3 hours before the flight. My thought process was that since it’s a hub they’ll be able to accept my bag earlier for the flight. I’m able to do this with Delta as a Gold Medallion member.

Never been there so I can’t say for sure but since it’s their hub I can’t see why it would be an issue. Have you reached out to the airline on Twitter? I have no idea how active they are on that channel but it can’t hurt.

Update, asking on twitter was quite useless… They told me “Qatar Airways recommends you to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure. Thank you!” This didn’t answer my question… Any additional feedback would be great

No personal experience on this, but I can’t imagine you have any issue. Doha is Qatar’s hub (and a pretty major one at that) so check in desks should be staffed 24/7.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. The reason I ask is because I had a similar issue with Turkish Airlines a couple years back where they wouldn’t let me drop bags until 3 hours before departure… and I was flying in J… Just wanted to double check before I head for the airport and and be disappointed. Thanks for the response.

How did this work out for you? We have a late flight out of Doha tomorrow and we would also like to drop our luggage early.
