Does Marriott elite status ‘stick’ to a booking once expired?

Does Marriott elite status ‘stick’ to a booking once expired?

Hi everyone – Marriott Bonvoy Platinum for the last 3 years +, and it’s due to expire soon; I was one of the lucky ones that did an SPG Platinum challenge in April 2016 then got ‘extended’ for some bizarro reason – Amex platinum charge card holder or other reason. Don’t know. Still hasn’t run out – lucky me!

Anyway – can’t find any answer to this question on the internet. If I am Platinum TODAY, and book a room TODAY; will my elite status ‘stick’ to that booking if it expires prior to my stay in just over three months time (for upgrade purposes et al)?

I dont think so, you will grant status based on when you check in date.

For example, my status expire on 28 feb next year. If i have a booking, check in 27 feb and check out 3 march. I will recieved the whole period benefit as my status. But if i check in on 1 march, then it might be different story.

This is what i experience in the past.
