Delta Suites from Asia
Anyone who has possibly flown back to the States from Asia, specifically trying to compare HND to ICN.. I have to re route an original PVG trip. Was going to cancel as DL will let me cancel obviously but all my outbound itinerary (AA & other One World) wont let me cancel with out reinstatement of miles fees x 4 diff flights). None of those 4 flights involve China so even though its Asia I cant cancel them. Sooo, looking at keeping the trip and thus looking at flying home to LAX from HND or ICN.
HND would be non stop on a 777
ICN would be a stop in MSP, on an A350
I know everyone says the A350 is so nice but is it worth having to make a stop in the US before getting home? I actually dont like the No bins in the center thing as that means i will be sharing an overhead compartment. I also dont believe the “Flagship” (listed next to the A350 flight) means anything. On AA the 77W actually means pajamas & a mattress pad. I dont believe there are any amenities that will be different/added on for the flight from ICN vs HND. The only difference I see is the ICN flight being over 12 hours seems to qualify for 3 meals (Its listed as Dinner, Lunch, Brunch), much like the PVG flight was. However, from HND (10 hours) its Dinner & Brunch. Might mean 1 hot meal less. Cost and miles are the same so all things considered just curious if the ICN A350 or the HND B777 is the better choice. Obviously there is a 5 hour lay over in MSP so thats making me lean towards rescheduling through HND. Just the whole A350 thing, longer time in Delta One Suite, extra meal, etc was making me think go through ICN
Thanks in advance…

Nothing against the Twin Cities, but spending 5 hours in MSP is, well, about 3 hours too many. And it’s not like DL has anything like FF Dining (yet – allegedly coming soon) to kill time in.
I think choosing the A350 because it is “nicer” and “quieter” is overrated. I find 787s or newer 777s (usually the 77Ws) too be just fine. An A350 over a 767 or A330 is a no-brainer. If the 350 has the Delta One Suite and the 777 a much older seat, then maybe.
