Delta Mileage Credit / Medallion Status

Delta Mileage Credit / Medallion Status

I am currently on schedule to be just shy of Platinum Medallion with Delta for the 2020-2021 year. (72,294 MQM).

What would happen if I took a flight later this year (December of 2019), but didn’t credit it to my SkyMiles account until after January 1, 2020? Would the MQM from the flight roll over to 2020 Qualifying MQM – or would it automatically push me to Platinum Status for 2020-2021?

*I live in Spain and commute to Puerto Rico and New York a few times a year (always in DL1) – but having Platinum doesn’t give me many added benefits on intra-European flights, which I take more often. Having some doubts whether to continue to Platinum or stay as a Gold, and try for Diamond for 2021-2022.

MQMs are awarded based on when the flight occurs, not when you request the elite credits.

What airline do you fly within Europe? It could make sense to earn status with another airline

    Thanks.
I fly with SkyTeam (Air France/KLM/Alitalia) within Europe since I have the ElitePlus benefits with them – and also primarily because I avoid flying the many low-cost carriers, which are based in Barcelona.

Have you considered going for elite status with AirFrance-KLM instead of Delta?
