Delta Devaluation for Flying Blue members

Delta Devaluation for Flying Blue members

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi,

I am a KLM Flying blue platinum member residing in Amsterdam The majority of my flights are either intercon to and from the US and some US domestic flights.
Today I find out that FB platinum members can no longer select comfort seats on Delta during booking w/o a charge.
Apparently Delta changed their policy and only allows free comfort during check-in. This is a huge deal for me especially on the US domestic flight (Intercon I usually get D.O.D upgrades).

This devaluation leads me to rethink my strategy: I have made enough MQM’s already to keep FB Platinum for 2017.
    – Should I ask for status challenge w Delta Skymiles and make a mileage run on Skymiles?
    – Would

Found out today Delta has changed their policy to Flying blue Elite plus members. As of april 1st you are no longer able to select Delta comfort seats free of charge during booking, only @the day of departure these seats are releases. Now I am an Amsterdam based flying blue platinum member. Most of my flights are Europe – US and US domestic. Now especially for US domestic this is a big deal to me (intercon I usually get D.O.D upgrades). Furthermore i have already made enough MQM’s to keep Flying Blue platinum for 2017. This gets me to rethink my strategy with the following questions rising:

    – Should I try and get a Skymiles status challenge and make a run there?
    – Would I be able to keep Flying Blue Platinum and Skymiles Platinum @ the same time? (even when not using at the same time)
    – What would be a sound decision for me ?

Erik, you can have both statuses at the same time. You’ll have to decide whether it is worth it to you to be able to select comfort seats. The difference on US domestic flights is marginal IMO.
