CX Avios Award-JFK in Zone 8 but BOS in Zone 9?

CX Avios Award-JFK in Zone 8 but BOS in Zone 9?

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi all

I am trying to book a CX Award in F with Avios for JFK-HKG. I am also looking at BOS-HKG, however this flight is requiring 200K whereas JFK only requires 140K.

I know that JFK-HKG, and North America-HKG flights, for that matter, are an anomaly in that it should be Zone 9 in BA’s award chart but is charged at Zone 8. I checked ORD-HKG and its also Zone 8. Why is Boston any different?

I am trying to use Avios because I also need to book an infant on this ticket and I would rather pay in Avios than 10% of Cathay F fare ($1800).

    Thanks
    Andrew
