Crediting to AS after AA SWU has cleared?

Crediting to AS after AA SWU has cleared?

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi Lucky,

I was curious if you or anyone has had experience with this. I am flying LAX – HKG on AA and my SWU’s have already cleared in both directions and I have picked my seat in both directions. My question is, if I want to credit my miles to AS, am I allowed to change it before taking off or will they reverse my SWU and make me sit in Y? Anyone else tried this? And if I change it on the LAX-HKG leg, can they later revoke my SWU on the ride home back to LAX? Many thanks!

Go ahead and change it — you can use your SWUs for anyone, even if they don’t have status. Once the upgrade is confirmed it’s fine to change the mileage account to another program.
