Back in March 2015, I signed up for Chase Ritz-Carlton credit card. If I was to cancel the card, will I lose the points? In general, is there a minimum time period you should hold the promo credit card so you don’t lose the points/miles? Thank you.

You will not lose your points.
There is no minimum period that you should hang on to the card for the benefits to be permanently yours.

There is no listed minimum period but generally accepted practice is to hold on to the card for 10-12 months. Banks are likely to be unhappy if you close cards right after you get the sign up bonus.

In general (absent any fraud or other issue), points that are transferred over to a partner (so Chase to RC in this case) are safe after you close the card. Benefits provided by a card (like status) or bank proprietary points like Chase Ultimate Rewards expire if you close the cards associated with that account.
