I am flying in to the tom Bradley terminal from Auckland and I have to transfer to T2 for a virgin Atlantic flight to London. They changed my flight so I now land at 2pm and my flight to London is at 3pm. I assume I have to go thro immigration as I have been told I need to get the visa thing. Is an hour enough?? and do I get the bus from Tom Bradley to T2 or is it quicker to walk – although I cant walk very fast. I am Business class so I am hoping that it will at least get me off my first flight quicker. I am in a complete panic now

That is going to be a tight connection because of immigration. Are you a U.S. citizen and do you have Global Entry (or a citizen of one of the other countries eligible to have GE)? Are you checking bags? With Global Entry and only carry-on bags you can probably make it. And hopefully your flight from AKL is early and you don’t have to wait for a gate.

Are your tickets booked as one reservation or separate? I don’t want to stress you out but I really don’t know of that’s possible unless as OCTinPHL says, you have GlobalEntry and no checked bags. Even then it would be tight.

I’d consider calling Virgin and asking to change to the 7pm evening flight instead of the 3pm. It may incur a fee but it’s probably the safe option

I don’t know about Virgin, but I’ve always had luck with AA putting me on an earlier flight from DFW when I clear immigration faster than expected. But DFW immigration tends to move faster (at least for arriving trans-pacific flights). And when I clear immigration at LAX I normally have to wait for a red-eye, so blah.

On an upcoming trip from PEK to LAX I have just a 1:05 connection (separate AA tickets), but I also have a ticket booked on a red-eye should I not make the afternoon connection. The only way I make the 1:05 connection (and I have Global Entry) from TB to T4 or T5 is if the flight from PEK lands early, which it often does. But then you have to pray a gate is open.
