Connecting on separate reservations
Hi all,
I am taking a trip to Europe in a month and I am connecting through IAH to CDG on AF. I found a cheap fare from IAH to CDG, but I am not based in Houston so I scheduled a positioning flight (domestic) on a different airline UA from the one I am flying to Europe on. My question is if I will need to leave the airport and go through security again or if I can just stay in the airport? No luggage to check and I can check in on my mobile app. I would prefer to not leave the airport just to check in for the flight and have to go through security again.
Thanks
IAH terminals are connected airside so you should be able to remain airside and go to the gate for your next flight. A gate agent should also be able to print a paper boarding pass for you as well, if you wanted it.
If you end up having bags to check though I’m not sure UA would interline bags and if they dont, you will need to claim, recheck bags and reclear security.
