CitiAAdvantage Executive card and new Aa boarding process

CitiAAdvantage Executive card and new Aa boarding process

I just blogged about this myself and then thought I would pose a question to this group. I do LOVE the new simplified boarding process American just rolled out. It may be the only thing I like about them. I just upgraded (based on one of Lucky’s posts) to the CitiAdvanatge Executive card. I have two emails, a mailer and the American website all putting me in the new Group 4 which is still priority. I keep getting put in Group 5 which caused me to have to gate check a bag the other day because the bins were full by then. I’ve talked to countless people at AA, been yelled at, had eyes rolled at me and been ignored. No one cares and no one wants to fix it. Is anyone else having this problem? (NOTE: I did call them out on Twitter about it and the social media team was very responsive but over 2 weeks later they still don’t have an answer for me. I keep getting told “the right team is looking at this).

    Hi @Robert Rosenbalm, and welcome!

Is your AA number the same on your card and on your AA account? Have you asked AA if your AAdvantage account reflects that you are an Executive cardholder? I would start there.

Hopefully others will chime in with their experiences — I haven’t flown AA lately, but when I do my EXP status trumps my credit card status, so it hasn’t come up.

Ive traveled recently on AA and the new boarding process is HUGE-ly better! The group that travels the most (CK members) and First Class = Group1. EXP= Group 2…. etc. It was so confusing to have the term “Priority Group 1” which wasn’t the first group……. because there was “Pre-Boarding”. Very illogical. Tiffany is right to get your Group 4 or Group 5 sorted out over the phone. If it were me, I would call Citibank Executive card (that I also enjoy for the 10K bonus EQMs given after spending $40K each year, and for the Admirals Club access)…. they will hold your hand through the phone and coordinate the mistakes being made. My guess.
