Hi Lucky/Tiffany and gang. When making a hotel res thru the citi prestige travel desk do you still get all the benefits (wifi etc). Starwood and Marriott sites mention free when booked thru their web sites. Have no status with Starwood ( Amex cc) and gold with Marriott? Will be in Dubai and they all mention fees 80 AED plus. Thank you for the help. Mike

Yes. From all reports elite benefits have been honored when booking through the Prestige desk.

But if you don’t have elite status, they may not give you benefits that are only guaranteed when booking via their website since to them it appears you booked via a third party.

@MidSouth Skier, has that happened to you? I was thinking about booking a Hilton stay using the card because everything I’ve read including here (http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/04/15/citi-prestige-card-fourth-night-free-hotel-benefit-details/) says that all reservations earn full points and credits. In that case I couldn’t imagine the hotel not offering benefits but offering points. I guess I’ll have to dig a little deeper since the free breakfast for two might be worth more than a free room.

At least for Hilton it seems like booking through Carlson Wagonlit qualifies as booking through an IATA qualified agency per this post and comments (http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/06/09/hilton-hhonors-eliminates-elite-benefits-on-third-party-bookings/). Phew. Good thing to keep in mind though and check for in other chain policies.

@Gaurav it’s not happened to me personally because I’ve not yet used any Thank You points and I haven’t booked a hotel anyplace other than through the website in a long time because I’m either using points or my corporate rate. But that’s what the wording of some of the things say…
