Chase Sapphire Reserve Question
As a newbie to points & miles accumulations, I need to ask a few questions. I just got approved for the Chase Sapphire Reserve with the 50K bonus after the 4K spend. I didnt think it would ever get any higher after missing the 100K bonus.
My questions are 1: Is the annual $300 travel credit able to be ussd for airline tickets or just accessories such as Bag chages? I got conflicting stories from Chase Representatives
2) I see there is emergency evacuation and medical coverage with this card. Does this mean it is
primary coverage as my medical insurance doesnt work outside the USA
3) In Ireland, do I need to Not purchase the CDW because the card reads as if they are Primary coverage for CDW.
4) How does the Ultimate Rewards booking system work? I realize I get 50% more but want to move points over from my Freedom Card so would those be increased by 50%?
Thank You in advange for your help..
1 – Airline tickets count. Any kind of travel-coded expense counts. Mine was reimbursed after i bought a monthly transit ticket as well as for Ubers and parking.
2 – Probably, yes, though if it’s really a concern, it’s best to call the card and have someone explain the benefit to you.
3 – You’re covered for rentals outside the US, but please check with Chase before travel since there are some exclusions.
4 – Chase’s UR points are kept separate for each card, though you can easily move the points around with the “combine points” tool in the UR website. In order to take advantage of 1.5 cents per point towards airline tickets, you have to use points from the Chase Sapphire Reserve UR account. You can move your freedom points into reserve then use the points there to book for the increased redemption rate.
