Chase Marriott Free Night

Chase Marriott Free Night

Just chiming in with an FYI for anyone with the Chase Marriott card.

My free category 1-5 certificate was due to expire in July (6 months after issued). I have a stay in November that I just wanted to book. When I called in to use the certificate, the agent transferred me to someone who would be able to help extend the expiration date. I had to verify my account, and 2 minutes later the expiration date was extended to one year from today.

Some extra data points… I am a Platinum Elite (earned the good ol’ fashioned way on nights, not a credit card benefit or Starwood status match :)), I’ve held the card for around 5 years and have never asked for an extension before.

Just passing along in case it’s helpful to anyone else!

Seems odd that your free night would expire six months after issue so I checked my account and my free night just posted and it’s good for a full year.

Interesting! I just checked back through old e-mails and you’re right, it was a full year. In the past it was only six months… wonder when it changed.

Either way, I was glad they extended it for me
