Changing Marriott award booking dates: do bookings re-price?

Changing Marriott award booking dates: do bookings re-price?

  1. Rice Member

I’m thinking of preemptively booking some Marriott category 8 hotels before the rates increase in 2019 But there’s a possibility that I may need to move the dates around as my schedules finalize. If I end up changing the dates on these existing bookings next year, will they re-price using the higher rates when this happens?

I know in the airline world, the rates should stay the same as long as the tickets don’t get reissued. But not sure if there’s an equivalent in the hotel world.

I don’t know for sure since it’s uncharted territory for Marriott… but I would imagine it would get re-priced. Probably worth the gamble though, if you’d save a considerable amount of points!
