Cancelled TG flights on ticket issued by Aegean
Hi Lucky,
I’ve booked a ticket (One-way, 2-segment with a transit in BKK) for my dad on TG using my Aegean miles. Unfortunately, the second segment was cancelled as TG handed over that flight to its subsidiary, Thai Smiles, who is not a star alliance member, so Aegean cannot rebook me into that flight. However, when I typed in his PNR into TG booking system, there is a Thai Smile segment in the system and the status says ‘confirmed, new flight’. I also tried Checkmytrip, and the status of that Thai Smile flight also says ‘confirmed’. Do you think he’ll have any luck during check in? What is the worst case scenario if we do nothing to that flight? Will he still able to board the first segment and discard the second segment, or he can’t board the first segment at all even the first segment is still confirmed and not cancelled?
Boarding will be denied, no boarding pass issued. Talk to Aegean.
ThaiSmile is an affiliate of StarAlliance, via their parent company Thai Airways. Try to get Aegean and Thai on the phone in a 3 way call so that they can work something out.
