Booking lap children on Delta
I’m in the early stages of planning a family trip to Europe for 2018 (2 adults, 1 toddler, 1 < 2 year old, 2 grandparents, and possibly 2 teenagers). Due to our mix of points (Amex and UR), I think we will fly out on Delta (to avoid additional fees) and return on United. When I do sample searches on United, it allows me to specify passenger types (child, lap infant, etc) and charges me a cash rate for the lap child. When I perform searches on Delta, I'm not seeing a way to specify the age of the passenger. What's the easiest way to add a lap infant to a point booking on Delta? Would I book the other tickets and then call Delta to add the baby? Does anyone happen to know if they would charge me in points or dollars to add the baby? Thanks in advance!
Per the Delta website you’ll need to call them to find out the fare. http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/special-travel-needs/children.html See the first section regarding Fares & Ticketing.
