Booking an AA award with Co-Terminal Connection?
Trying to put together an award and wondering if anyone has experience with this. Will AA allow a connection with co-terminals? For example, ATL-LGA on AA, then JFK-HKG on CX. Not sure if this breaks routing rules. Thanks!
Several times in the past few years I had the following award tickets on AA:
BNA-LGA on AA, then JFK-HKG on CX. Then on the return: HKG-JFK on CX, then LGA-BNA on AA. Never had a problem with those.
As Daniel says it should work fine. I’ve had to do LGA-JFK and DCA-IAD a few times to make things work. You just need to leave yourself enough time to make the connections.
That should be fine, since it’s changing airports at the connection point – just make sure you leave enough time. LGA-JFK isnt exactly fast or easy. Uber/Lyft/Via/taxi is best.
What AA doesnt consider co-terminals is when NYC is your origin or destination. If youre booked with JFK as the origin or destination and change to a flight that gets you into LGA, that’s a different destination and requires a change fee. **rolls eyes**
