Booking AA award miles
Is there anyway to book direct award flights on business/first on direct flights using AAdvantage miles without a) having multiple stops and/or b) paying exorbitant fuel surcharges on British. It seems pretty much impossible to find anything to India or Western Europe. I tried looking for immediate travel needs as well as far into the future. On all direct flights, they show no availability in saver class. I tried DFW, ORD as possible outbound airports. Thanks for the help.
It really depends on the route and time of year. AA has been stingy on seats on its own metal for a while though they have opened availability in bursts over the past year on specific routes. The only partner that charges surcharges is BA so your options are to find ways to redeem your miles without them while also following AA routing rules. This should be a helpful start:

There is no other secret other than just looking at the list of partners and searching using the appropriate websites to find award availability. Good luck!
Also, remember that if you’re traveling to India, you can route via the ME on EY and QR as well as HK on CX.
