BOM-JFK-SFO award question

BOM-JFK-SFO award question

1. Nash D New Member

Hello,

My wife and I are flying from BOM to SFO via AUH/JFK in the next day or so and have the following routing:

BOM-AUH – Etihad (F)
AUH-JFK – Etihad (F, A380)
JFK-SFO – American (Economy, AAnytime)

Award pricing worked out to 90k + 20k (since the JFK-SFO leg was not saver space). What would be possible options for us to try and save on the 20k segment? I see no saver space open yet as of 5:15 PM IST on Jan 12 and travel commences 9:45 pm IST Jan 13. Revenue tickets JFK-SFO are $550 – $650 per person approx in coach. Probably better to stick with what we have and not go revenue?

Would award space on JetBlue be accessible to miles with AA (I see JetBlue connections on Etihad’s site, wondering if redemption is possible).

Any other options the community could suggest?

Thanks,
Nash

Hi @Nash D, yes at those prices, 20k is still a pretty good price. If you were to change the award at this point you would end up paying a 150 change fee anyways. Not worth it.

JetBlue is not a partner of AA unfortunately so that’s not an option. Enjoy your flights!
