BEYOND FURIOUS – Citi has lost 130,000 points and will not help

  1. Anonymous Guest

I am shaking mad right now.

5 weeks ago, on December 4th, I transferred 130,000 points to my LifeMiles account. I have transferred to this account many times before and it is always instant.

Fast forward 5 weeks to today, and the points are still gone from my Citi account (debited the first day), but never arrived in my LifeMiles account.

After 20+ phone calls, 3 customer service tickets with both the airline and citi, the official response from Citi is, “Tough luck.” There is *nothing* they can do, they say. They can’t recall the miles, they can’t get on the phone with Aviana. The official line is that there is nothing they can do.

In case anyone asks – YES I have sent screenshots of the transaction to Avianca who opened a ticket, YES I have quadruple checked that the account numbers are correct, YES I have opened a ticket with Citi under the promise they wold solve it.

Nothing. Nothing. The final solution is that the miles are lost, which is so, so, so infuriating. The Citi manager closed with “The terms and conditions do not require for the miles to post, just for them to send.”

What can I do? I am not a “sue them” guy but what option do I have? This is all documented with confirmation numbers and screenshots. How can the miles just be lost? Arfgfgggggg
