Given the changes to United’s Mileage Plus (both in qualifying and spending miles), it will be more difficult for many of us who fly a few long-haul flights to obtain Gold Status. Which other Star Alliance carriers would be good choices for a US resident to earn miles on United to obtain Gold Status and who have reasonable fixed mileage redemption awards? Probably it would be a preferred Star Alliance carrier.
