Best way to redeem miles for Turkish Airlines
Hello Lucky,
I have tons AA miles, but it can’t be redeemed for Turkish Airlines. My questions are as follows:
1. What would be the best way to redeem one way business class tickets to Indian subcontinent with Turkish Airline?
2. Since I do not have miles with any partners within Start Alliance, which airline I should become a FF member so that I can purchase miles up front and use it to redeem for Turkish tickets?
3. How much miles do I need to purchase for an one-way business class ticket from the US to Indian Subcontinent?
4. Please note that I have about 100K BA Avios and some Singapore Kris Flyers miles along with AA miles.
Your suggestions would be highly appreciated.

You can use Krisflyer miles, how many do you have? Why Turkish? You have points in programs that fly to the Indian Subcontinent. BA does.
I wanted to visit Istanbul on my out for a day or two. On my return, I would use Qatar (AA Partner) to get back. Thanks!
I think SQ would charge you for two awards if you want a stopover (more than 24 hours) in IST since you’re flying a partner. Not sure of any other popular programs that allow stopovers on one way awards… Thai might offer them but it’s been a while since I looked it up.
What about Avianca Life Miles? Do you know anything about that program? They offer promotions frequently to purchase miles and also a Star Alliance partner.
The mileage that I have with SQ is not enough….
Do you think purchasing miles with Avianca and then use it for Turkish Biz ticket is a good idea? Thanks in advance!
It’s an easy way to get Star Alliance miles but I don’t believe they offer a stopover on a one way award. They charge 130k RT.
