Best way to Hawaii in J using AA and Thankyou points
I am sitting on about 300,000 AAdvantage miles and 100,000 Thankyou points. My wife and I would like to take a week in Hawaii in April leaving from the east coast. Saver availability in J seems to be nearly nonexistent. Fares right now are ~$1400 in Y and $2600 in J per passenger, which seems awfully high.
The 100,000 Thankyou points equates to basically $1600 off of a $5000 fare. Is that the best use of the points I have at my disposal?
TIA

Ugh, Hawaii is really just the worst. You could theoretically do a Singapore Airlines award on United with your ThankYou points, but I don’t remember the last time I saw business saver to Hawaii, especially around spring break.
One of those cases where there aren’t many good value options, so if you’re going to use miles I’d go with whatever “seems better” to you, honestly.
