Best airline for economy to Paris from ORD

Best airline for economy to Paris from ORD

    Lucky and Co.,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to travel with my family like a rock star! I happily have been supporting the blog for years! I find myself in a situation where I’m flying with a group of girls to Paris and they won’t have enough points for biz, (or are saving for something else), so most likely we’ll end up paying for economy. This is a september trip. I’ve started looking at flights.
I still want them to have a good experience as it sets the tone for the trip. What is the best airline and/or plane. I’ve looked at AirFrance premium economy across their fleet, UA direct from ORD?
I could probably position to another airport if the flight was worth it.
I’d love your suggestions. Thanks. Kim

It’s economy so i think its more important to pick fights with the best times for your party. UA has 767s, AF uses A330s and AA’s seasonal flight uses a 787. The 787’s probably the best aircraft of the three but if you can get extra legroom seats on any of the flights it’ll be good.

Hi David. AF also uses the 380 as well. I think that 330 seems the most outdated.
    Do you agree?

Not to Chicago. ORD only modified one gate last year to handle an A380 and currently only BA uses it.

Ahh, yes. I was thinking it might be an option our of JFK is the experience would be worth it.

its ok if you havent flown an A380 before. otherwise, it’s still economy and pe. AF’s pe is decent though – i liked it.

I guess because I’ve flown emirates first, I think of that as a good choice, but at the end of the day, it’s going to be nothing like that. Maybe I just book UA direct – since that’s where my loyalty lies these days, and get there as quickly as possible. 😉

I wouldn’t go out of my way to fly an A380 unless the price was competitive with other options. Baggage claim with 500 other passengers can be a lengthy wait. I’m sure you must have considered AA out of ORD – their nonstop is more pricey than taking a connecting flight but regular economy is $728, premium economy a couple hundred more. I think those are excellent prices for CDG. I fly to CDG twice a year, sometimes on AA through ORD on their 787 which arrives mid morning and is reliably ontime and often early. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks, Gia. If the IFE good on the 787 out of ORD?

Yes. New plane, IFE has good resolution and lots of selection.
