Baggage Fees for BA Award Travel on American Metal
I currently have the Barclay Card Aviator card so my baggage fees are free on American. My family and I will be flying from DCA to MIA on BA miles in January via AA metal. Will we be charged baggage fees since I am flying through BA, or will my baggage fees be waived since I have the Aviator card and I will be flying on AA metal?
Thanks.
If you’re flying American, and your AAdvantage number is in the reservation, you should receive all your cardholder benefits. Have fun!
I also have the Aaviator Red card and I have successfully enjoyed the card benefits (boarding priority, no baggage fees, etc) even when flying on tickets that only have my British Airways Executive Club number on the reservations by simply showing the check-in and gate agents my Aaviator card. I don’t see any reason this shouldn’t work for you as well; just make sure that you bring the card.
