BA Seat Selection

BA Seat Selection

  1. Tar_00 Member

    Hi –

I was looking at purchasing a BA ticket with flights being operated by AA from DFW to CDG (2 adults and an infant under 2) and wondering if it is possible to select seats in advance in economy for free or for a fee as it states while booking “select seat for free within 24 hours” (I’m also an AA Platinum).

    Thanks!

I don’t see why not – you would probably just need to get the AA Reference Code once you book, and call the Platinum desk.

@Tar_00 Yes, you can, I have done it many times.
What I also have done in the past when buying international economy tickets for AA flights (where it did not come with a free checked luggage), is that I bought the ticket through BA (accessing it from my AARP account to get an additional $100 off per ticket). By doing that, I got the free checked luggage allowance which BA gives, but no advanced seat assignment. Then I got the AA record locator from BA, logged in at AA.com and was able to select my seats free whilst having the luggage allowance also.
