BA F

BA F

Never booked or really used BA web site but have 2 upcoming F trips with them and Ben’s recent article about the 777’s beginning the chance to 8 F seats instead of 14 caught my eye and i wanted to see if my SIN to SYD flight in April would be the new plane or not. Maybe its too soon to know fo sure as my reservation under Manage reservations still shows 14 F seats.

However my question is actually this- when i went into the BA system as if to book a new flight it only shows Business as the highest premium flight for my BA #15 SIN to SYD. However i quickly checked on AA, how i got the flight originally, and F is there and available with miles.

I just checked one other BA F flight i have LHR to LAX on A380 which i know for sure has an F class (just in case the 777 flight maybe there was a glitch cause of this new F & J class thats coming). The A380 flight also on BA web site if you want to buy it just shows Business as the highest premium class.

I must be missing something on the BA site where you can see F or maybe scroll over to see F availability?

And my original question was going to be how do you find out if your 777 flight is a newly configured plane or not? Will it show within a reasonable amount of time before the flight? Going from 14 to 8 seats it would have to be something they plan and think out so they dont over book

Just to confirm, you are not seeing F at all, right? Not that F is not available? I think it may be because when searching for award availability on BA’s website, the search only returns 3 classes at a time – so if you don’t enter a class, the return gives you Econ, PE, and J. Did you try entering just F when looking for awards / upgrades?

You are indeed correct. I had to choose F class from the drop down menu and then it comes up. I am just used to all classes coming up with out having to choose a class, like with AA, UL & DL. Thx
