BA Avios Advice
I recently found good award availability on domestic AA flights using Avios. Being based in the US, I’ve never transferred Chase UR to Avios before. I was able to transfer the points from my Chase account to British Airways with no issue. I went all the way through booking the award fare and after payment the system gave me an error message and advised me to call a representative. The BA rep couldn’t find any availability on their internal system even though their website showed the fare. There wasn’t any other award availability using Avios for the dates that worked for me. I feel like I’ve wasted many thousand UR points that are now stuck in my Avios account. BA and Chase both said that there’s no way I get those back. Have you had a similar experience with this? Also, now that the points are stuck, I’ll be trying to redeem them at some point before they expire in 36 months. Any tips on finding award availability on Avios? I would appreciate any advice!
Was it saver award space that you saw or anytime award space? Partners can only see the saver space. You can always use the BA shopping portal to extend the life of your Avios.
