Award check-in with credit card

Award check-in with credit card

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hello–

I’ve got two award flights coming up…Korean Air business and then Cathay Pacific first class. Should be awesome.

I read that sometimes you need to present the credit card that you booked the flights with upon check-in. Is that true for these airlines?

And if so, what happens if I lost a credit card and had it replaced? The issuer will be the same obviously but the numbers will be different. Will this pose a problem for me?

    Thanks,
    David

I didnt have to present the credit card when checking in to a Cathay award flight booked with AAdvantage miles. Not sure about Korean Air.

Thanks for the reply. I booked Cathay with Alaska miles and Korean with SkyMiles. I cancelled my delta Amex and subsequently found it so I’ll bring both. But I realized yesterday I’ve lost my Sapphire Preferred too.

I’m not usually a flake but the bar exam next week so I’m all over the place. Haha.

Just a month ago we flew on CX on EWR-HKG-PEK and 12 days later back PVG-HKG-JFK. No one asked us to show the cc. Oh, and the tickets were AA Award tickets.
