Can’t decide what is the better one to choose. The Eva flight gives me a better layover but is the seat/experience up to par for such a long flight? its 75k miles with Eva and 105k with Asiana. Thanks!

Is the Asiana F that much better that I go straight through to Singapore, or take Eva and break it up and enjoy my 8.5 hour layover in Taipei?? Decisions Decisions.

First is always going to be better and it’s good that you have it for the long leg but I’d probably lean towards business. It’s a solid product and your first itinerary has ~12 hours of business flying anyway.

Interesting dilemma. The back end flights on SQ are the regional business class seats which are comfortable but not great for sleeping. I assume it doesn’t matter if you get there a day later and leave a day later.

You’re not going to have much time in Taipei. You get in at 6AM to start. Immigration might be busy as many flights get in at that time. There is nothing around the airport to see (was just there 2 weeks ago). To go into town you can take a bus, takes an hour and it will be rush hour, or take the UBus to the high speed rail into town. The Ubus will take 15 minutes and the HSR takes about 25 minutes. These trains run regularly but figure 1 hour to go in and 1 hour back. I would get back for my 2PM flight by at least by 12:00 as immigration and security can be a nightmare in TPE. I had a 1PM flight and it took 45 minutes to clear the other day. You can also take Uber to the HSR for about $5 if you don’t want to wait for the bus.

So if you want to see Taipei then EVA is a great choice. They are such a good carrier with a solid business class. I had a FC reservation on Asiana earlier this year and downgraded myself to business which was a complete disappointment so I can’t speak to first. I know they have a nice suite on the A380 and it gives you more room to sleep as both these flights leave at midnight. So that is a consideration but the EVA Cirrus seats are pretty good as well. And for 50% more I agree with @Gaurav. It would be different if the whole trip was first.
