AS Region Definitions

AS Region Definitions

Does anyone have a good place for AS’s region definitions?

Specifically, where does CX/JL consider Singapore and Indonesia, when redeeming AS miles?

2. No Name Member

Can’t find AS’s region definitions at moment.

While the award charts/cost is different for CX/JL, the region definition of Asia is the same and include both Singapore and Indonesia.

Not sure about eastern Russia and the Stans, but everything east of India plus the Maldives is considered Asia.

You have no concept of Northern/Southern Asia that a lot of airlines operate with.

Whoa AS seems to have change the award chart and added Southeast Asia on some airlines!!

When did that happen? Or have it been there all along and I forgot about it?

In the fine print at the end of AS new and fancy mileage calculator

On Japan Airlines and Korean Air, Southeast Asia travel includes Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, and Cambodia

So CX just Asia as in my first post, JL see above.

So assuming you are looking for flights from/to US from Singapore or Indonesia
CX
J 50K
F 70K

JL
J 65K
F 75K

Thailand, Singapore and Brunei are in Asia while Indonesia is South Pacific for CX and JL.

Go to AS website:
https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mileage-plan/use-miles/award-charts.aspx

Select Continental US to Asia, scroll all they way down to Terms and conditions. See rule nr. 11 as quoted in my last post.

Forget the map that show regions, it’s not accurate at all. It has Moscow in Asia just as an example.

Yes, JL has Indonesia. I was looking at the map on my iPhone while talking on it. Bad multitasker. Good catch.
