I’m looking to book a J class award on CX between HKG and CDG. Right now only PEY seats available. If I lock in the PEY seats now and J seats open up a few days before my flight, will I have to pay the change fee? Even if I am on the same flight on the same day?

Just wait until last minute to book if you don’t find space now. CX is pretty good about releasing last minute award space.
