I am an authorized user from my bfs chase card. In this case, does 5/24 count to me or him?

also, I would like to cancel this authorized user card since my bf has a bad credit and i have a good credit, and i do want having this card affect my credit score. If i close this authorized user card, it will go back to 0/24 (if i do not have any cards opening within 24 months), correct?

    thanks!

Hi Sakura, it applies to both of you. Some people have reported success in having their count reduced during reconsideration calls when they were authorized users.

I do not believe that the card affects your credit score in any way since your boyfriend is the one responsible for the account. Authorized users are not usually a co-signer for an account.

Your x/24 count will not change since that measures the number of accounts opened.

As a beginner I would strongly encourage you to read up on credit scores on the beginners area of this site as well as more specialized forums like myfico etc so that you have a better understanding of how your decisions will affect you. Good luck!
