Amex Platinum vs. Chase Ink, for small business

Amex Platinum vs. Chase Ink, for small business

    Background:

I’m relatively new to the travel hobby world and am still learning. I just signed up for a Chase Sapphire Preferred (unfortunately several weeks before the Reserve was announced) for a personal credit card and will receive the 50K bonus points. I am a small business owner.

    Amex Platinum vs. Chase Ink:

I just received a targeted offer for an Amex Platinum Business card for 150,000 points. To get the points requires I spend $5K in the first 3 months for 100K points, and another $10K (in the same first 3 months) to get the other 50K points. However, the $10K must be spent on *eligible purchases to receive the 50K (not sure yet what is eligible).

Originally, I was planning on getting the Chase Ink for business, getting the 60K bonus and combining it with the 50K points from my Sapphire Preferred, while also earning the 5x points on business related expenses.

I know that people value Ultimate Rewards points more than MR points, but the Amex offer seems too good. What should I do? Any advice would be appreciated!

@the maximizer, the Chase offer is a standing offer so there is no hurry to get it unless you need the points right away. You could get the AmEx card and then get the Ink after you have met the spending requirements. The eligible spending usually refers to fees like annual fees and expenses to get cash equivalents etc not counting towards minimum spend requirements. I have seen reports about AmEx clawing back Plat bonuses because of MS so I would make sure you can meet the spend requirements for the Plat card legitimately before you open it.
