American Express Gold card and Membership Reward Program

American Express Gold card and Membership Reward Program

1. Bartholomew Kuma New Member

i signed up AmExp Premier Reward Gold card recently and planned to transfer the bonus points to Singapore Airline KrisFlyer program.

Attached a screenshot. Below is the words in case font is too small.
This offer is available to you by clicking through this web page. If you leave or close this web page and return later, this offer may no longer be available. If you are identified as a current or former American Express® Card Member, this offer may not be available to you.

I have AmExp Costco card for years. When i use my own computer, i can’t see this special offer – 50k point by spending 3k. I found this special offer over work laptop (i guess it’s because AmExp can recognize my own computer, but not work laptop since i don’t do personal finance over work laptop) and applied and got the card.
Do you think i will get 50k point or just regular 25k points, since i still have Costco card?
i asked AmExp rep and the answer is vague

And today, i found out AmExp Membership reward program no longer partnership with KrisFlyer. i called AmExp and they advised me to transfer AmExp point to Aeroplan which partner with Singapore, and from Aeroplan to Krisflyer.

As i try to do more research on aeroplan, im having problem with its website. What’s transfer ratio? any charge for transfer?

Welcome

Who told you that Singapore is no longer a transfer partner?
Amex MR site seems to disagree with what you were told.

Transfer ratio to Aeroplane is 1:1 from MR. Singapore does not open up F space and very little J space to partner airlines, frankly the phone agent you talked to sounds like an blithering idiot.

Having an Amex Costco should not affect your new card in any way, if you signed up for 50K offer you should get 50K.

Only limits on Amex cards are max 4 credit and 4 charge cards at the same time, and you can only earn signup bonuses for a specific product once on private cards in your lifetime. Aka Premier Rewards Gold is one product while The Platinum card is another.

i guess i went to wrong place and got confused…feel like idiot too.

THANK YOU, Ben. Now i am in peaceful mind.

I have a question from your reply.
you can only earn signup bonuses for a specific product once on private cards in your lifetime

i remember reading something like “earn sign-up bonus as long as you did not earn it in past 24 months”. only Amex track individual record for lifetime?

Your link are to the Canadian MR program, not the US. I assume you are in the US and not Canada?

Banks have different standards on how you can earn sign up bonuses, at AMEX it’s once in life time on private cards. On some others it’s 18 or 24 or even 12 months.

And I’m not Lucky. Just a fellow traveler in the points game.
