I know American bus class awards can be hard to predict. We are looking for one-way London (or really anywhere in Europe) to Seattle in early July. I can see availability in June. My question is, what are the chances it will open up for July? Is it just too early and we need to be patient? Or is it not there because it’s peak summer travel and will probably never open up? Thank you!

Not much to do besides keep checking. There’s always a chance it’ll open up. AA awards are so unpredictable. I’d check for AA flights from LHR to other cities and then a domestic connection. If something works, book it!

Thanks, David! That’s definitely what we’re doing! Just hoping someone would have had experience with finding award availability during those summer months!

Not summer, but I was stalking ATL-MAN (or LHR) for October for a few weeks and then all of a sudden I found ATL-DFW(F)-LHR(77W Biz)-MAN(BA fake biz). I grabbed it as soon as I saw it. Haven’t seen anything like it before or since become available. Also, it opened up sometime between 4pm and 8pm so it’s pretty random.
