Anonymous GuestMy wife recently was awarded a phenomenal promotion through American. For doing literally nothing, she was given platinum status for a few months and 20 500 mile upgrades, a value of $800 if you were to purchase them.
Just curious if anyone else received this promo and if there is any other uses of the 500 mile upgrades once she losses status. I don’t believe you can transfer those.

In the past, if you lose your status you also lose the ability to use the upgrade certificates. But, if I remember correctly, they are still tied to your account (you just can’t use them without status, oddly enough). So if she were to attain status again, they might still be there waiting
