American airlines miles
Why won’t AA allow me to redeem miles on AA flights at the saver level? They will only show flights on BA at the saver level…and I’ve been looking 4-5 months out.
Saver reward tickets are not a guaranteed offer from any airline. Consideration for route, time of year, average load factor, class of service as well as many other factors we don’t know about go into releasing reward inventory. Plus 4-5 months out is the time when sales for flights pick up. In general saver seats are available 11 months out and then closer to departure. Seems to me that overall AA has reduced saver inventory on their planes recently as well. Maybe another partner has a saver ticket that won’t show on an AA search.
AA SAAver award space on AA metal on international flights in both economy and business has been very limited for several months now. Don’t know if this is the “new normal” – let’s hope not.
As @MarkS said, some saver space will not show on AA. Try searching segment by segment using BA.

Also included in the new norm are “Saver First tickets” from JFK to NRT via LAX with the LAX-NRT flight in economy
