Alaska Lounge Access

1. Anonymous Guest

Ben, I saw on Alaska’s website that Alaska Lounge members get access to select Admirals Clubs when traveling on Alaska Airlines flights. I also know that those traveling in Alaska Airlines first class get access to Alaska lounges. Do they also get access to the select Admirals clubs? Does this also apply to those flying in Virgin America first class?

Thanks
Adam

I believe if you are an Alaska Lounge Member, you (and up to 2 guests) can access AAdmirals clubs as long as you (and your guests) are arriving or departing on a same day flight on AS or AA. https://www.alaskaair.com/content/airport-lounge/location-and-hours.aspx

As of now, I dont believe a Virgin America ticket would qualify.

“Those with oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status in any program other than Alaska Mileage Plan or American AAdvantage can access Alaska Lounges when flying any oneworld flight the same day, even if it’s domestic”

Not quite true. Alaska won’t allow entry if the frequent flyer number in the reservation record to accrue mileage is anything other than from the Oneworld program in which the passenger holds status. This is despite there being nothing in the published Oneworld rules requiring this.

Furthermore Alaska either doesn’t support separate fields for status and mileage accrual frequent flyer numbers or hasn’t told their agents in how to use them.

Unless and until Alaska decides to change this you will not be allowed in unless the reservation is set to credit your flight to the airline for which you hold status. It’s not possible to earn Alaska miles when flying Alaska if you want to use your Oneworld status to access the club.

Thanks. Good to know especially since I just signed up for AA Exec card. Now if I can Citi to honor the 85K SUB on the referral from the new DCA Admirals Club (rolled eyes emoji)
