Alaska awards

Alaska awards

Hello All! I am hoping to bring my parents in law over from Australia in July an am sniffing around awards. For some reason Alaska seems to be showing very little Korean awards now. I basically couldn’t find any Sydney to chicago. Is that unusual? I thought I used to see a lot of it? Otherwise I am waiting for a lifemiles sale.

They have loads of qantas points which are basically useless.

Occasionally there is some ANA availabiity on united.com. Any tips for that route? Is there any way to search by legs?

KE doesnt release much award space to partners – I think one seat at most.

It is better to search by individual legs so I would definitely recommend that. Also search for a single seat at a time if your parents are okay flying separately. If you’re going to use UA miles, you can search by segment on their website – it’s pretty good for that. Might need to call UA to book though.

Thanks David. Much appreciated (as always). I seem to remember seeing a lot more ke space on Alaska air searches. I guess I should look for Cathay too.

United via the west coast virtually never has anything but economy for the domestic leg which is still long
